Preparing for the First Visit:
- You will be at the office for a total of 1&1/2 to 2 hours approximately. Please plan accordingly.
- If you are not an existing patient of Warm Springs Dental, no worries! I will quickly take a few intro-oral pictures so that your oral condition is documented for our Doctor's review, and then the whitening adventure begins! There is no additional cost with this process.
- Please do not brush or floss the morning of your appointment. This will make micro-tears in your gums and can potentially cause them to turn white during the whitening process. While this is not a detrimental issue, it is easier to avoid without micro-tears. Any whitening of your gums will sough off within 2-3 days.
- Please drink plenty of water after your visit to help re-hydrate your teeth. You will leave with a sealant and desensitizing agent for your home use.
- Please avoid high pigmented foods for the first 24 hours. While you will be provided a sealant to protect your whitening, avoiding these foods/drinks ensures the best result.
- If you are planning on using AFTERPAY for your payment method, please download the app PRIOR to coming to your dental visit. You can find more information about AFTERPAY HERE.
- Be aware that you will sign a standard consent form prior to starting treatment, so bring your questions with you!
- With any whitening treatment, especially for the first time, comes a gamble of how much one will lighten. It is pertinent to manage expectations, as I cannot control how fast or how much one person's teeth lighten compared to another's. The best way is to try it and be happily surprised! Even at the very least of my "expected results", with 22%, I was able to achieve 4 shades lighter on a patient who had fluorosis - which is a mottling of the enamel due to too much fluoride intake and thus makes the tooth extremely resistant to whitening in general. So if they can do it, you can too!
- If you are not sure which whitening strength to choose, please contact me prior to your appointment so that we can discuss options and alleviate any fears.
